Kenya – Tanzania – Zanzibar Itinerary

how do you like our Kenya – Tanzania – Zanzibar itinerary?
Which changes would you suggest?

Day 1 – Arrival in Nairobi
After landing you will be picked up from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Nairobi. Relax from the long flight and take a rest before your safari adventure begins!


Day 2 – Nairobi – Masai Mara
After breakfast you depart for Masai Mara with a game drive en-route. You arrive at Mara Bush Camp perfectly in time for lunch. Afternoon game drives in the reserve.

Day 3 – Full day in Masai Mara Game Reserve
A full day with unlimited game drives in Masai Mara Game Reserve with packed breakfast or lunch if you like. You could also enjoy just a morning and afternoon game drive if you prefer to take a rest in the lodge in between.

Day 4 – Masai Mara – Serengeti
You leave in the morning after breakfast and drive south to the great Serengeti with a picnic lunch en-route. The afternoon is spent viewing game.

Day 5 – Full Day in the endless plains of Serengeti
Today you enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing drives on the vast Serengeti plains. In the early morning and evening light, the Serengeti landscape is stunningly beautiful. The Serengeti ecosystem supports the greatest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, including more than three million large mammals. The park is one that can never disappoint. You will be fascinated by the variety of bird and wildlife species.

Day 6 – Serengeti – Ngorongoro
After breakfast you drive to the Ngorongoro highlands with en route view of flora and fauna of this spectacular geography (short game drives in the Serengeti). You will arrive in your lodge inside the Ngorongoro area for dinner and the rest of the evening will be spent resting and enjoying the views from your veranda.


Day 7 – Full day in the “African Garden of Eden” (Ngorongoro Crater)
After breakfast you descend some 610 meters into the crater, which is home to an abundance of wildlife and a photogenic paradise, for a full day of game viewing drive with picnic lunch at a private scenic site. Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact caldera in the world teams with an abundance of wildlife permanently resident on the crater floor. Prides of lions, herds of cape buffalo, impala, thompson gazelles, rhino, golden and black backed jackal, zebra, cheetah, leopard and the spotted hyena freely roam on the crater floor plains. Unmatched for its natural variety and breath taking beauty, there are few places on earth where such a tremendous diversity of landscapes exist inside a region this size. Apart from its wildlife riches, the crater is also of great archaeological importance, with the remains of some of mankind’s earliest ancestors discovered in the area and also a home to hundreds of bird species, refreshing in the small lakes in the crater floor.

Day 8 – Ngorongoro – Manyara
Today you drive to Lake Manyara National Park and have a long game drive there. The park is infamous for the tree climbing lions. You will also be fascinated by the beauty of the flamingos on Lake Manyara.

Day 9 – Manyara – Tarangire

Today you visit the Tarangire National Park which is home to the largest elephant herds in Africa. You enjoy a day full of game drives. Around the Tarangire River you can find many animals throughout the year.

Day 10 – Tarangire – Arusha – Zanzibar

After breakfast you depart for Arusha where you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar.
On Zanzibar you will be greeted at the airport and transferred to your beach accommodation.

Day 11 – Zanzibar

Places of interest in Stone Town: The earlier slave market, slave chambers, fruit- and vegetable market, the earlier German Consulate, African house (earlier British Club, the house of slave trader Tippu-Tip, The house of wonders, The Forodhani park, The palace of the Sultan, The fort, Livingstone’s house and of course Stone Towns funny, narrow streets, several of them with exiting and fascinating architecture inspired by African and Indian culture. But you can also decide to stay at the beach or book optional activities like water sports.


Day 12 – Day 14 – Free days relaxing and exploring Zanzibar’s beaches

These 3 days are free and you may choose a program of your own. The hotels offers some of the best activities that you can do in Zanzibar from a central point. Spice tours, dolphin tours, kayaking, a dhow cruise and other activities can be arranged. Alternatively you might choose to just relax, unwind and forget all the hustle and instead have free time in the hotel or at the beach. Take a book or swim in the wonderful Indian Ocean.

Day 15 – Kwa heri Tanzania

The day is free and later you will be escorted to the airport to catch your flight/boat to the main land for your connecting flight back home.
