Marangu Route Up To Mt Kilimanjaro

Dear friends,

Have you ever thought of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro?

If you plan to do this, you have to decide for a route first. There are several routes to climb the “roof of Africa”: Lemosho, Rongai, Machame, Shira, Umbwe, Mweka and Marangu.

The latter is said to be the easiest one and is also called “Coca-Cola” route due to the older days when Coke used to be bought along the way in tea huts.

The slope is gradual and so even inexperienced climbers choose this route. Only here you find sleeping huts in dormitory style which are definitely more comfortable, but might also make the trip less adventure-like.
The huts are Mandara Hut, Horombo Hut and Kibo Hut. In each there are enough beds for many climbers.

Being the most popular route brings the effect that this is also the most crowded one.
If you prefer being alone, you should definitely choose another opportunity.

Marangu Route

The recommended length for this trip is five or six days. In addition to that you can decide for an extra acclimatization day which enhances the success rate.

You pass different, very beautiful landscapes: forests, moorlands, interesting flora.
A possible extension before or after the trip is a Marangu Day Tour where you have a nice walk to the Marangu waterfalls and the Marangu village. Here you can learn interesting facts about the culture, traditions, agriculture and food.

Each day climbing Kilimanjaro takes around six hours except the summit day on which you hike up to fourteen hours. But don’t worry, you can make it! Just prepare well, use good equipment and rest a little bit on the evening before the summit.

Anyway no matter which route you take for climbing Kilimanjaro, it is a lifetime experience you will never forget!

Your team from World Air Travel & Tours can provide you with more information and book the trip.
